As some of you may know, Thursday was the start of summer, the longest day of the year and International Yoga Day! Summer is said to be a time of renewed energy and increased optimism and as we are now half way through the year (can you believe that?!) it’s also a great time for reflection and looking ahead.

At my Yoga class last night, I asked my Yogis to meditate on 3 questions, so I thought I would do the same here. I could write so much more, and I have in my diary, but I thought I would summarise here.
What am I grateful for / proud of over the last 6 months?
  • Seeing my yoga  classes grow and my students progress. I still can’t get enough of seeing how relaxed and present they are after a savasana massage!
  • My wonderful, supportive husband – helping me with all the tech / admin side of the business and just being so encouraging
  • Being in a better headspace – having a much better work – life balance
  • Meditating for 78% of days since December (thanks for the stats Insight app!) I’m sure number 3 is a result of this!)
  • Making time for self care and relaxation
What needs nurturing in my life right now?
  • I’d like to devote more time to my yoga business and to developing a wider yoga community in my local area
  • I’d like to connect with more people in the yoga / fitness/ wellness community – I really feel I am missing people to share my passion with
  • I want to spend more quality time with friends and family, and make new connections. I want to be more sociable
  • I need to work on / explore my lost passion for school teaching – my views on the education system have really changed and this is having an impact on my day to day teaching
What am I excited about in the coming 6 months?
  • Growing my yoga business and setting up more Yoga events! I have ideas for a retreat involving nature and yurts!!
  • Reading Yoga related books and listening to a range of wellness podcasts – I love learning something new and meaningful everyday!
  • Possibly expanding my skills into holistic massage / teaching other fitness classes
  • More walks in nature
  • Bonfire night! (My favourite night of the year!
Solstice comes from the latin words Sol – Sun and Sistere – to stand still / stop. Over the next couple of days, why not take some time to reflect and look forward, perhaps by journalling or answering the 3 questions above. I would love to hear some of your ideas / reflections in the comments on Facebook / on the blog.
