How fast did 2018 go?! And what a year it has been!
My Yoga teaching journey officially started in Jan 2018 and since then I have been so incredibly lucky to have worked with so many wonderful people and to have started to build up a little Yoga community.
A look back at 2018
I have been a pretty busy bee this year and have taught around 274 classes (not including the classes to students at school). That is just madness! August was an incredible month as I took up every opportunity to teach and said yes to as many cover requests as possible! I think teaching cover classes is so valuable as it puts you a little out of your comfort zone and introduces you to people you may not be used to working with
3 of those classes were Yoga Brunches, which I absolutely love running. I am hoping to do more of those in the coming year and to perhaps develop them into longer mini day-retreats!
Considering I started teaching at Hotpod Yoga at the end of September, 64 classes is quite incredible!
21 classes were not typical yoga classes – they included Barre, Pilates and Yoga with weights. These were a great challenge and it was fun to try something a little different
I have loved teaching Yoga to the staff and students at school – I feel this is something that I would love to explore more in the future as both student and staff wellbeing is being challenged further and further, especially over the last couple of years, with increased exam content.
Looking Ahead to 2019
I think 2019 is going to be a very exciting year. I would love to devote more time into planning Yoga Brunches, mini day-retreats, workshops and possibly even longer weekend retreats. I want to continue to grow and develop a local Yoga community and hopefully expand class sizes.
But I do need to make sure I am realistic. I am essentially juggling two full time jobs at the moment and can often put alot of pressure on myself to grow my Yoga business, which can lead to overwhelm and exhaustion. There needs to be a balance.
But most of all, I am looking forward to continuing to work with the beautiful people I have the pleasure of practicing Yoga with. I am so grateful for your continued support and can’t wait to get your bodies moving whilst settling the mind in 2019. Namaste
