I am honestly still buzzing from such a wonderful Yoga brunch at the end of last month. I have always loved planning events (parties, get togethers, meals etc) so I was so excited about bringing my love of Yoga alongside some tasty, vegan food and meditation. I used the set-up time in the morning to calm my nerves – I was so excited! It was fun turning a space used for business meetings into a calm, light and fresh smelling (hello essential oils!) space for mindful movement – especially with my amazing husband helping me to record the whole event. The Yoga class itself was great – we focused on the theme of connection and worked on connecting to our bodies, mind, breath and, of course, each other, with some fun partner poses! It was great practicing with some of my regular yogis, but also so many new ones! After an energising class and a deep, tree of life relaxation, we were all looking forward to some yummy vegan food – and my goodness Bharita didn’t disappoint! Super creamy yogurt and granola pots, followed by delicious tofu scramble served with fresh asparagus and tomatoes – so filling yet so healthy!

I must also mention just how friendly the caterers were – before the event had even finished, we were busy planning the food for our next one! I had an overwhelming moment of happiness when I saw everyone sat around the table, eating nourishing plant-based food and getting to know each other. To me, a key aspect of Yoga is connection and this event really did bring people together. Seeing the smiles on peoples faces as we explored partner boat pose was wonderful! Thanks so much to everyone that came and special thanks to Bharita for their tasty food and my wonderful husband for all his support and documenting the event.

I must admit I felt a hint of sadness once the event was all over… but its ok because tickets for the next one will be on sale very soon!

This month I introduced a new pricing structure for my classes, which includes drop in classes and 6 class passes for those that attend my classes often. I realised it is difficult for people to commit to a full 6 weeks of classes, so this new system enables students to be a little more flexible and also means they can attend either or both my Friday and Sunday classes. It’s been lovely to see my Friday evening class grow with some new people joining us. A new student commented on just how lovely the Friday night yogis are, and I agree!

As it was half term (again!) at the end of May, I had the pleasure of covering a few extra Yoga classes at local gyms. The Yoga studio at DW fitness is lovely! I find teaching at the gym a great challenge as I get to teach different people each week, each with varying levels of Yoga experience and a range of reasons for being in a yoga class. I got most of my early Yoga experience from the gym so it’s nice to give others that experience.
